Guild Wars is up against Psychonauts and WoW for "Best Game World" on the SpikeTV Video Game Awards 2005 Power Rank.

There's also a couple other categories to vote on, if you'd like. But that's the only one with GW as a nominee.

Edit: Ouch! Just voted...GW has only 11%. Psycho has 51% and WoW 38%... Go vote!

OK..so apparently you can vote more than once if you move to the next category then back. GW is up 1%, the others down 1% each since I posted this thread. GW FTW!

If by "world" we mean simply an original creation in which to set a game, sure Tyria is nice. But let's be real here... it doesn't even hold a candle to Azeroth.

Well, I realize the SpikeTV awards are way out of touch with the typical gamer. Still, I'd like to see Guild Wars win something. It's also up for best multiplayer game or some such category (one the public can't vote on).

Dude, what're you guys doing? 11% to 51% already? Damn. Keep it up. I imagine it'll be a battle royale once the WoW crowd finds out they're down to 22%. And what with the award show over a month away...that's a lot of time to swing the vote.

zomg.. WoW is on a crappy award show!.... who care if WoW win the best gaming world. At least we got a kick-ass Pumpkin Helmet and cool update for our game world.

WoW should never, NEVER, never, never, never, NEVER, NEVER, never, never, NEVEEEERRR got any kind of award EVER. THE A number 1 most overated game EVER! I played it for FREE And I didn't even like it.

GW with best game world? Looks pretty, sure, but I like Rubi-ka better. Desert, tropics, alien locations.. Anarchy Online's planet ftw.

I have no idea how they come up with the nominees in any of these categories...some of them are rather...suspect. Many look like they've paid their way onto the list. Especially the games that haven't even been released yet. How can they be considered best of whatever in 2005?

I'd be extremely surprised if WoW didn't win anything. It's just so...popular.

Anyway, yeah, the SpikeTV awards are a joke. But I'm still going to give GW my support.

Anarchy Online...I've been meaning to try that out...

There is a 'game of the year' category, but it's not open to public vote. The nominees are: Resident Evil 4, Call of Duty 2, F.E.A.R., God of War, and WoW. I'm surprised Indigo Prophecy/Fahrenheit wasn't on that list, but this is SpikeTV...

You can find the list of nominees in all the categories by clicking, wait for it, 'nominees' in the lower left. If you have the patience to slug through the Flash interface. I'm sure there's a normal text list somewhere.

Edit: Found the press release. Have a look...and a laugh...at the nominees.
